Creating added value for customers and company

The company heroal has been providing its customers a wide range of products for many years. The focus of the project was placed on prefabricated elements that were preassembled and tested such as sun protection systems. UNITY supported heroal in digitalizing its E2E process from customer configuration to digital processing in batch size 1. For fully digital and paperless processing, the existing IT landscape was expanded to include new systems and functions such as a CPQ and MES system as well as fully integrated cutting optimization. The integration of the systems as well as the machine connection took place along the E2E process. The advantages of this digital processing speak for themselves: The E2E approach with automated processes allows batch size 1 to be processed with short delivery times and a high level of efficiency. This creates added value for customers and manufacturers. A customer order is always individually customized and yet available for production with all the relevant information, just a few minutes after the order is placed. Combining several customer orders into one production batch leverages economies of scale for material picking and cutting. In this process, all cuts are optimized to minimize waste and then digitally transferred to the saws. The track & trace function enables components to be tracked and assigned to individual customer orders. Another advantage is digital production planning and continuous production and machine data acquisition. This increases the ability to react to disruptions and ensures on-time delivery.
